LOCAL DESIGNERS STRUT THEIR STUFF AT 4TH STREET TAKEOVERS

4th STREET Wines, the official headline sponsor of the first ever Project Runway South Africa television series, recently hosted the Soweto edition of the 4th STREET takeovers. The 4th STREET takeovers are events, specifically for design students that are hosted across the country

12 Design students customised a mystery item and competed for the 4th Street takeover winning title, in pure Project Runway fashion. “I was so excited to partake in this event which took place in Soweto, a vibrant and fashionable place. I can’t even describe the happiness and appreciation I’m feeling at being named the 4th Street takeover winner,” says Tasneem Mohammed, winner of the 4th STREET takeover.

Dè-Mari Shaw, 4th STREET Brand Strategy Manager says, “4th STREET drinkers are  fashionable and influential. This is why it made sense for us to partner with Project Runway. With this sponsorship, 4th STREET, the easy-drinking wine, connects high street to our street, making the runway more accessible to this urban chic set. The 4th STREET takeover events serve to create positive social occasions and give entrants into the fashion industry a taste of Project Runway South Africa.”

Local fashion influencers were seen socialising and enjoying the pink inspired event, which included a selfie area, delicious food and 4th STREET cocktails.
